I can’t think of a better reason to travel for your wedding day than to pay tribute to your family. And so I love that Kathleen and Tyler redefined what it means to have a destination wedding.

While Texas is home, Bartlesville is part of their family history: Kathleen’s parents got married at the Frank Phillips Home and her grandparents were married at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. This amazing couple chose to honor their family by traveling to Bartlesville for their wedding. I am so grateful they were led to my business and I was honored to be able to capture their big day. One of the most meaningful moments was being able to recreate the very same picture of Kathleen’s grandparents on their own big day as they exited the church’s iconic red doors.

Kathleen and Tyler are an incredibly fun, joyful couple who were a DELIGHT to work with. They radiate love and dedication for each other, which made their back-to-back engagement session and wedding day a breeze. They barely needed any coaching from me ;)

So many of their family members and close friends traveled to be at this wedding they brought the celebration! This was the largest wedding party I’ve ever photographed, and this meant their photos show how surrounded by love this couple is. Kathleen did a first look not only with Tyler, but with her Dad and bridesmaids as well! It was so fun to capture the reactions from the sidelines for all three of these special moments. I also loved that they rented a party bus to transport everyone from the wedding at St. Luke’s to photos at the Frank Phillips Home and on to dance into the night at their reception at Hillcrest Country Club. What a great way to make the transportation logistics not only easy but fun :) 

As a photographer, I was grateful for the gorgeous venues, the sunny November weather, and the couple’s willingness to give ample time in the day’s schedule to allow me to capture every moment of their wedding story. Kathleen and Tyler were so wonderful to work with and truly let their love spill over into a joyous day full of important tributes to each other and their family.
