She didn't know it was coming ... but her mom did! I was contacted by the mom a few days before the big event since they were coming in from out of town and were looking for someone to photography the moment! I was honored to be there to capture the surprise proposal but a little nervous for sure! So much pressure! I arrived a little early to set up and scope out the light but I immediately freaked out when I saw a completely different couple already sitting in the designated spot under the gazebo! Oh no! After a frantic text to Brian about picking a new spot, ... I got the message that they were walking across the street and heading my way!

I stayed hidden while they sat by fountain to finish their gelato and I started taking pictures from behind. Luckily the other couple moved and they were able to head over to the gazebo as planned. So I quickly picked up and moved and walked by taking pictures of the flowers as if I was there just for fun ;) When I got the "signal" (a casual wave and hello ;)) I immediately started firing my camera! It all happened so fast but boy was it exciting! Being part of their once in a lifetime and special event was something I will always remember!

After she said yes, of course ;), I introduced myself and officially met the newly engaged sweethearts :)r But there were more suprises to come! Immediately after our introductions, her mom appeared down the path after witnessing the proposal behind the scenes. Jillian immediately started running to her and it was such a fun moment to capture. I was definitely tearing up ;)

After getting over the shock of two surprises :), we finished the afternoon with a mini engagement session in the gazebo and surrounding courtyard. I soon found out that this spot held a special place in Brian's life. His father owns Bambino's Restaurant, down the street, and he has many fond memories of walking over to play in the gazebo as a kid. These two were the absolute cutest and there's definitely no better time to take your engagement photos than right after you get engaged! The energy and love is through the roof :) Enjoy scrolling through every moment of this special event and session!
